Την Κυριακή 3 Μαΐου πραγματοποιήθηκε η 4η Ποδηλατική Εξόρμηση στον Πάρνωνα, με μεγαλύτερη συμμετοχή φέτος από την προηγούμενη χρονιά. Την όλη διοργάνωση είχαν, ο Ελληνικός Ορειβατικός Σύλλογος Σπάρτης και ο Σπαρτιατικός Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος. Συμπαραστάτες, ο Δήμος Οινούντος και η Κοινότητα Καρυών. Πολύτιμη ήταν και η βοήθεια των Πολιτιστικών Συλλόγων - Καρυών, Βρεσθένων και Βασαρά. 
Οι ποδηλάτες είχαν χωριστεί σε δύο ομάδες. Οι πιο έμπειροι ξεκίνησαν από το καταφύγιο του Πάρνωνα και η δεύτερη ομάδα από τις Καρυές. Γύρω στις 10:30 το πρωί, όλοι οι ποδηλάτες, μικροί και μεγάλοι συγκεντρώθηκαν στην κεντρική πλατεία Καρυών όπου του μίλησε ο υπεύθυνος της διοργάνωσης Παναγιώτης Καρούνος.Οι ποδηλάτες ξεκινώντας από την πλατεία πήγαν μέχρι τα αιωνόβια πλατάνια του Μενέλαου, στο εκκλησάκι της Παναγίας, στις Καρυές και συνέχισαν προς Βρέσθενα. Εκεί έκαναν στάση στον Άγιο Νεκτάριο για ξεκούραση και προχώρησαν προς Βασαρά. Περίπου στις 3:40 μ.μ. οι 90 ποδηλάτες τερμάτισαν στο Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο της Σπάρτης.
Πάρα πολλοί γονείς συνόδευσαν τα μικρά κυρίως παιδιά σ΄ όλη τη διαδρομή, ενώ αρκετοί γονείς έκαναν τη διαδρομή με ποδήλατο μαζί με τα παιδιά τους.Αρκετοί ήταν και αυτοί που βοήθησαν, ο καθένας με το δικό του τρόπο για να πραγματοποιηθεί η 4η Ποδηλατική Εξόρμηση στον Πάρνωνα.
Το Ραδιόφωνο ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ 90,7 http://www.politiaradio.gr/ ήταν εκεί όπως επίσης το site της Λακωνίας http://www.apela.gr/17-70.htmlκαι ο τοπικός τηλεοπτικός σταθμός ΕΛΛΑΔΑ TV http://www.elladatv.gr/ που κάλυψαν όλη τη διαδρομή.

The Mount Parnon Bike campaign number 4 took place on Sunday the 3rd May, with a larger participation than the previous years. The whole event was organised by the Greek Mountain Climbing Association of Sparti and the “Spartiatikos” Gymnastic Club with supporting members the Municipalities of Oinountas and The Karyes Community. Valuable was the contribution of the cultural associations of Karyes, Vresthena and Vasara.The riders formed two separate groups, with the more experienced starting from the Sanctuary of Mount Parnon and the second group starting from the plateia of Karyes.
Around 10.30 am all riders, young and old gathered in the central Plateia of Karyes where they were addressed by the organiser of the event Mr. Panagiotis Karounos.
The riders started their journey from the Plateia of Karyes went by the centuries old plane trees of Menelaos in the court yard of the little church of Holy Mary in the outskirts of Karyes and continued for the town of Vresthena. They stoped for some rest at the saint Nektarios church then they moved on to Vasara. At approximately 3.40 pm the 90 riders reached the enclosed gymnasium of Sparti. 
A large number of parents accompanied their smaller children for the journey while other parents also took part in the bike ride together with their children.A large number of people contributed in success of the 4th Parnon Bike campaign
